Last month I shared 3 suggestions to reconnect with your inner wisdom (your intuition) and find more enjoyment for your life. They were:
- Explore Your Creative Side.
- Let Gratitude Be Your Guide.
- Learn Something New.
Here’s 3 more suggestions to embrace and connect with your inner wisdom in 2023:
- Take a Walk in Nature.
I don’t know about you, but I have the tendency to get laser focused, sit at my desk, and work for hours if I don’t consciously choose to get up and move around. I love taking walks in nature – even for just 15 minutes around the block. This is really a great thing to do when I’m stuck on an issue or a position, feeling anger or frustration, or I’m looking for creativity or to stop the internal chatter…the noise. A nice intentional walk always snaps me out of it and brings me back to center. Then the ideas begin to flow.
Be intentional on your walks. Our bodies love and need movement. Honor it. Drop the phone, take out the earbuds, and just be one with the stillness. Listen to the birds singing or the kids laughing. Watch the critters scurrying about. Talk to the bunny that stops and takes notice of you (maybe she’s your spirit animal trying to connect). Notice the ever-present abundance – there are too many leaves on the trees or falling snowflakes to count. Nature gives us the best representations of just how unendingly abundant our world truly is. Our inner wisdom loves it when we connect with nature. - Remember to Pause and Listen When Faced with Contrast.
When we find ourselves feeling contrast, comparison or resistance to ourselves, or another person or situation, we are in a state of lack. We are listening to the disempowering and untrue voice of our inner critic. Lack never feels good (hint: that’s how we can tell).
Understanding this will help you to move away from that state and toward more abundance and better feeling thoughts. Stop, seek out, and listen to your inner wisdom, your intuition, instead. That’s the voice coming from your heart. That’s your truth, it knows your true desires, and it feels really good! - Surround Yourself with People That Lift You Up.
When you start to open up to your heart and listen to the whisperings of inner wisdom, it’s very common to find that some relationships don’t feel quite so good or seem really energy draining. Has this ever happened to you?
I believe that all people come in and out of our lives at certain times throughout life for a Divine reason. Some relationships may be positive and feel good. Others may not have been so good. In every case, there is something to learn from that person or relationship. Something that she or he taught us…good, bad, or ugly.
If a relationship is not feeling good, simply examine it with kindness and compassion. What parts feel good? What parts don’t? What gifts did you gain from crossing paths with that person? Are you staying in it out of guilt or because you feel you “should” or “have to”?
If it’s time to set boundaries or let someone move on – allow it. Chances are they are feeling it too. As difficult as it may seem, all relationship contracts have expiration dates. Your heart will lead you to the people and communities that understand you and lift you up…to your people. You just need to listen and follow your intuition. You’re never alone and you’re always supported.
I hope you find some of these tips inspiring. Are there any that resonate for you? Is your heart yearning for something more? Be still each day and listen with an open heart and patience. You will be guided in some way soon and when you get the guidance, take inspired action so that the energy doesn’t fizzle away. It’ll make your heart happy and feel wonderful!
